Get ready for Seattle Independent Bookstore Day 2023!

Book lovers, unite! University Book Store celebrates Independent Bookstore Day Saturday, April 29, 2023!

Expect prizes, activities for the whole family, and general bookish merry-making. There’s never been a better time to “Read Independent, Be Independent!”

Throughout the day there will be book readings for young and young at heart. An art table to let your inner Picasso out. Photo opp-stops to take a pic with our favorite Independent Book Seller. There will be T-shirts and tote bags,and there will be so much more! Help us celebrate. Stop in to get your Indie Passport stamped and join the fun. We have special store hours on Saturday from 9 AM to 6 PM. We look forward to seeing you there!

Plus there are even more great festivities in the U District! The U District is also hosting its second ever Boba Fest! Did you know that the U District has the highest concentration of boba/bubble tea cafes in the nation? Hop on the light rail and come visit!

Similar to last year, participants will receive a passport to collect stamps from each participating bookstore to claim a 25% off one-time discount at EACH participating bookstore!

Participants have through Monday, May 8 to collect all their stamps and then submit the finished passports to any of the participating bookstores. Just identify your “home” store and then return on June 10 to claim your 2023 discount card!
